Water
For People.
Alice Towey of EBMUD organized
another successful Water For People auction, which was held at the November
general meeting. The auction raised $1000, bringing the 2011 BAWWA total WFP
donation to $2,500. Alice, with the support of auctioneer Sophia Skoda, has run
the Water For People auction since 2008.

Underwood
Award. Congratulations to
Judith Millard of Brown and Caldwell for winning the Underwood Award for 2011,
which recognizes members for their outstanding level of service to BAWWA. In
presenting the award, Drew McIntyre of North Marin Water District commended
Judith for her enthusiastic support of BAWWA by consistently raising her hand
to tackle those assignments that no one else would take on. Judith served as
the engineering representative on the Board for several years, the Historian
for 2007 and 2008, and the Social Committee Chair for 2009 and 2010. As the
Social Committee Chair, Judith coordinated two annual golf tournaments, which
is the main fund raiser for the BAWWA scholarship program. Pictured here are
Judith and past Underwood Award recipients Garry Lee (DSRSD), Sophia Skoda
(EBMUD), and Drew McIntyre (NMWD).
